Educated as an Aquatic Biologist I have always had an affinity for nature and the environment. My career track took a different path and ultimately led me into computer graphics and digital imaging, where I have over 30 years of technical and management experience. An aging and sore back was making my pastime of golf very difficult and left me looking for a new passion and challenge. While walking around the local parks for exercise I started to notice the birds and attempted some shots with a Point and Shoot Digital Camera. It left me wanting more (little did I realize how much more) and soon a Digital SLR was in my hands. Looking for more interesting subjects I ventured out to Bolsa Chica which is 15 minutes from my residence. It was the fall of 2004, I had a great time and I have never looked back. The combination of Coastal Wetlands Habitat, digital capture, digital imaging, and camaraderie with fellow photographers is a perfect fit for me, just as my wife Robin is. The fact that my mother is a lifelong Birder and we now have a joy to share is without a doubt a wonderful benefit. She wonders what took me so long!
Best Regards to All.
